Zentangle for peace

Hello together,

because of the recent events in America when black men were killed by the police and in response a gunman killed five officers, PEACE was a main theme in the challenges this week.

In Joey's weekly tangle challenge #121 and her 6th circular string challenge she asked us to use the peace string in combination with the tangle Organic. I had to practice this new-to-me-tangle a bit and also added Tipple and Printemps.

For the Diva Challenge #275 this week there was a guest post by Suzanne Fluhr, CZT. Her theme for the challenge is "Give Peace a chance" so the tile for Joey's challenge could also fit for the diva. But I found another great string that I absolutely wanted to try.

The motif of this "heart of shaking hands" is the response from Freebird to the Two by Two by Tuesday-challenge "Hearts".  I thought it was very suitable for the challenge.

Last but not least my entry for Adele's It's a String Thing #153. This week we should make a monotangle with Crescent Moon. It's one of my favorite patterns and I wanted to do something special. I hope I succeeded! I drew a normal and a negative version of Cresent Moon and then added a version with full circles that look a bit like moon phases. Hope you like it.

Diva Challenge #174

Hello together,

Yesterday I posted about the first tile of my daughter and the new pattern Wall Break that arises from it.

When I read this week's theme "My country - 'Tis of Thee" for the Diva Challenge I thought that this could be the perfect opportunity to use this tangle in a tile. Because it is perfect for borders or stripes I decided to make a monotangle of Wall Break. I drew three variations of it in the three colours of the german flag (black, red, gold).

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.

A first tile and a new pattern

Hello together,
Hallo zusammen,

today I want to show you a very special tile: the first tile of my 5 year old daughter Kiara. With the help of mine and the book "Zentangle für Kids - Waldtiere" by german CZT Beate Winkler she prepared the tile, drew the string and choose some patterns. But then she didn't want the book anymore and tangled patterns by her own.

When I saw this tile especially the border I found a new pattern. I drew what she had drawn, added some details and the result was a new pattern that was looking like a wall interrupted by triangles. So the name came immediately to my mind:

Als ich mir nun ihre erste Kachel ganz genau anschaute, entdeckte ich im Rahmen ein neues interessantes Muster, welches ich sofort selbst ausprobieren wollte. Ich zeichnete also was sie gezeichnet hatte, fügte für die Dreidimensionalität ein paar Details ein und das Ergebnis war ein brandneues Muster, das mich an eine Mauer erinnerte. Die Dreiecke bildeten dabei regelmäßige Aussparungen und somit war der Name für mich sofort klar:

"Wall Break"

Hope you have fun with this new pattern.
Ich hoffe, ihr habt viel Spaß mit diesem neuen Muster.

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.

my weekly tiles

Hello together,

It's the 4th week of the circular strings at Joey's weekly tangle challenge #119.  The tangle for this week was Gnarly that was totally new to me. I also added Vortex and some details.

At It's a String Thing #151 Adele gave us a simple string that immediately reminds me of a rainbow. So I decided to draw a rainbow and than tangled the patterns Floatfest and Ahh that Adele choose for this week's challenge. I also added Msst (for rain).

Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to your comments.
